Thanks a lot. It took me three weeks to draw, which is my record so far. I was really happy with it except for the wolves, which I plan to redo at some point. Most people don't seem to be all that impressed with it, though. I don't think most people know who it is. I'd like to do some more mythological illustrations when I get some time.
Wow, this was a really long time! My pleasure! And yes, draw more mythological stuff, it would be wonderfull to see!

I really like this but...Odins hair Is white...and he drinks his mead from a horn....other than that this is one awesome picture!!
Damn. I read as much as I could find to make it as accurate as possible, but I missed those two details. I read Odin looked "middle-aged" so I made his hair brown with gray hairs in it. They're kind of hard to see, though. His beard has gray hairs in it, too. I didn't know about the horn. I may change it one day. I want to redo his wolves, but I never have time to do it.
It's really awesome otherwise....wish I was that good ;)
I also read lots to make sure I got my right too...ended up putting the eye on the wrong side and forgetting his ring.
The funny thing was I had the eye on the other side..thought it was wrong..then changed it only to discover it was right the first time.I'm going to fix mine one day when I get the time.
One of the things I really had a hard time finding was which eye was missing. I can't remember if I even found out for sure or not. Also, I read that his other eye blazed like the sun, but I didn't know if that meant it was actually glowing or if it was just a metaphor. I went with the glow because it looked cool. I was surprised at how little real information I could find. I did a picture of the Gorgons, too, and I had a hell of time finding good descriptions of them. I have a great encylopedia of all the various mythologies, but the descriptions are really short and usually vague. The internet isn't much better. There's a million sites about the diffrent mythologies, but if you want good descriptions of the characters, you're usually out of luck. I spent two or three days trying to find out what an "aegis" is supposed to look like, but I never did.
pretty chocolate bear :P

oh... awesome job

:)
I hate those bears. They look like honey bears. I couldn't make them look mean, for some reason. I didn't notice until I drew them that bears are really cute looking until they start roaring. Whenever I get around to redrawing the wolves, I'm going to redo those damn bears, too.
