This is just too amazing. The shadows, the color, and the glow in their eyes. They're coming to get youuuuu XD. I saved up my money just to go and play this, Rival Schools, Street Fighter Alpha and all the other SFs and so many other games at the arcade as a small child ^_^.
Yeah, I did it to submit to a Darkstalkers art tribute book by Udon and it made me really nostalgic drawing it. I "acquired" a lot of those old fighting games and have been playing the hell out of them for weeks. I miss those days in the arcades. I hate to think about how many quarters I dropped into those machines, though. I'd probably cry if I found out how much I'd actually spent!
I loved the game back when it came out. It was certainly one of the best post-Street Fighter 2 games to come out. I never had a chance to play the sequels, though. I liked Morrigan the most, but Felicia was my number two. I think I used Raptor quite a bit, too.
I didn't see the American cartoon, but I heard it was goddawful. I watched the Japanese show last year. I didn't care too much for it, but it was okay. It had it's moments.
O.o there was an american version, you sir have just sent a shiver down my soul...
Yeah never played the second one either, beat the fist game in the arcade, one of two games I can say that about. Morrigan was always my second Ps: Every one likes Morrigan the most it is that whole thing she has for her sibling that does it. >.<
Yeah, there was some American "Darkstalkers" cartoon that came out a while back. Apparently, it was for kids. I never saw it, but I saw screenshots and it looked horrible. I think it only lasted one season.
As for the game, I did some searching today and I found an arcade emulator that plays Capcom and Neo Geo games and I got ROMs for Darkstalkers 1 and 2 and a bunch of Street Fighter games. It's suh-weeeet! Unfortunatly for me, I don't have a joystick and it's insanely difficult to do special moves with a keyboard. I only played a few minutes of Darkstalkers and my wrist is killing me! I may have to get a joystick if I can find one cheap. Almost all of the arcades and gamerooms closed down around here and the couple that are left are horrible (which really sucks because that was the one good thing about this shithole, we had arcades all over the damn place when I moved here) so I never got to play a lot of the Street Fighter games that came out after 2. The ones I did get to play kinda sucked, though. :/
